Lightning on Portland

Storm Pictures 3rd July 2001
The pictures on this page were taken on the night of 3rd
of July 2001 between midnight and 0400hrs. We started watching the storm
approach from the south towards Portland Bill but soon decided to move when
lightning struck the car park. I started photographing it from
Cheyne Weares and got a few shots of lightning behind
the lighthouse. It soon became dangerous to be there so we moved again to the
view point at Portland Heights, which is where most of the shots are taken from.
