Portland is a large Limestone outcrop off the
Dorset coast, it is very windswept and has been shaped by several thousand years
of industry. Many of the historic buildings in London are built with Portland
stone. Portland is a very diverse place to live, with very few trees, it can be
a lion or a lamb depending on the weather. We are blessed by the Gulf Stream and
rarely have frost making it possible to grow tropical plants etc.
