The fish was caught on
Saturday 11/3/06 by angler Billy Verney from Newbury, Berkshire
using a Shimano rod and reel set up. He was fishing for plaice on
the Shambles Bank on Dave Pitman's Charter boat Atlanta. Using a
flowing beaded trace with Ragworm bait caught this fish, which we
believe to be the first ever caught on rod and line from Weymouth.
The fish was weighed and verified at Weymouth Angling Centre as
weighing 8lb 4oz.
